Mississippi Transgender Alliance is a support group for transgender individuals, gender non-conforming individuals, and allies of Mississippi (or in support of Mississippi). The group provides a safe space for individuals to converse, share experiences, and support each other, while also promoting and working towards progress in regards to visibility, education, health, and equality of transgender and gender non-conforming individuals of MS. It is a Facebook private group.
Spectrum: The Other Clinic was established in 2019 by a husband and wife pair who are nurse practitioners in response to the vast lack of availability of hormone therapy for transgender individuals in Mississippi.
LGBTQIA+ healthcare services, including HRT. This specialty clinic focuses on Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy for the Transgender population.
Tools for safety planning and crisis navigation. This page offers an assortment of resources that may provide perspective, comfort, and/or tools that could be of assistance to people experiencing various sorts of tough times.
Mobile Crisis Response Teams provide guidance and support to adults and children who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The teams work closely with law enforcement to reduce the likelihood that a person experiencing a mental health crisis is unnecessarily placed in a more restrictive environment, like jail, a holding facility, hospital, or inpatient treatment. Response teams are available in all 82 Mississippi counties and can be accessed by calling the toll-free numbers that are answered around the clock by Licensed Therapists, Peer Support Specialists, and Community Support Specialists. Response teams respond wherever a person is experiencing a crisis or at a designated location, like a local hospital.
